So last year I was supposed to go to Africa with Alison and it ended up not happening. Sad I know, but I ended up going to Norway and Amsterdam instead. Which was awesome. Well Its about time for my yearly trip (I try to make sure to leave the country at least once a year it helps me stay sane) and I have decided to give Africa another try! To all the wonderful dads out there, have a great day! I am blessed enough to have a great father and know how important dads are to all children. Some of my favorite memories and days are ones I spent hanging out with my dad.

OREEKO INTERVIEW →
Work has been stressful as of late, so I’ve been breezing through wine bottles. I always cringe a little when I have to get rid of empty bottles - because they really are gorgeous. I found this project online, got some tacky glue, twine, and went to town. I love how these look upcycled as vases in my house! Yay!
Saute 1/2 onion, spinach, 1/2 lb tofu, garlic… once onions are caramelized throw everything in the food processor until it looks like a green goop. Scoop out the bottom of the portobellos and fill with mixture. Sprinkle with spicy monterey jack cheese and bake at 350F for 30 minutes. You can eat them alone or serve them over noodles with sauce for an impromtu italian dish :)
Two beautiful orchids in bloom behind the cafe :)
So Many Parties, So Much FOOD!
May is here, which for me equals parties, parties, parties! Graduations, birthdays, going aways, end of year events… Every weekend there is something new going on. This tends to be killer for any one on a diet and also all that BBQ makes not eating meat an extra hurdle. My best guess for a solution (since my will power sucks) is to bring healthier alternatives. Here are a few swap out...

A Color of the Sky
What I thought was an end turned out to be a middle. What I thought was a brick wall turned out to be a tunnel. What I thought was an injustice turned out to be a color of the sky. Outside the youth center, between the liquor store and the police station, a little dogwood tree is losing its mind; overflowing with blossomfoam, like a sudsy mug of beer; like a bride ripping off her...
